A Good Day

Headed out to a craft supply shop this morning and then into East Lothian for a run.

Preston mill was our first stop.
What a ramshackle place it is.

I also walked up to the Doocot.
I wasn't expecting it to be intact and fully functioning (with 500 nesting spaces seemingly). A bit disappointing really because you can't get inside and it is a pretty boring structure outside.

We continued our expidition into deepest darkest east Lothian and came across a wonderful beech wood with marvelous dappled light which I decided to take some snaps of - after lunch.

Lunch was partaken at within Whitekirk Golf Club ........ a wonderful carvery and deserts to die for.

Then it was back to the wood for the pictures.
But the sun had dropped just a bit too much for what I was after.
So I did some shots moving the camera during the exposure. Give it a go sometime ...... you can get some interesting results.

I was even able to get a gate for Dotty.
Somehow I don't think it has been opened in a while.

When we got home I sat and watched the Grand Prix ........... what a great race that was.
