Flower Friday . . . Red Hot Pokers
Shirley and Tony live in the last house in our street. I pass their house to start the path up the hill. At present they have these Kniphofia brightening up the winter days. The internet tells me one of their important roles is providing nectar for tui, korimako (bellbird) and waxeyes. I will have to do a stake out and see if I can get a bird swinging off them. I liked the winter sun shinning on the bushes behind them.
Happy weekend to all. The official start to winter for us and summer for the rest of you.
