Hirpling

Hirple is , according to the OED, a word of Scottish and Northern English origin , recorded from the 15th century onwards .

It describes perfectly my motion today , having been affected for the past three days by a slightly inflamed foot which has required Ibuprofen to overcome the discomfort.

That also explains why I am having an early night , tablets to hand.
