Walking ......
We got up before 9 am after we were so early in bed.
It was quite windy but there was sun visible and the rain had stopped.
We had no plans and were in the house catching up with Brian and Carol when she and Holly returned from the dog training.
After our late breakfast we walked to Roach side to say hello with Neils parents.
We played with Trixie the terrier and then made evening plans. Since no one seemed to volunteer to cook - us included - we booked a table at the Italian in Leek.
For tomorrow Neil’s dad wanted a barbecue - despite the bad weather forecast, but he promised us that he would sort the weather!!
Neil had suggested that we go for a walk to Lud’s Church - Carol was going there in the afternoon with Holly and a friend. I alsways wanted to see this place so we decided to join.
Instead of walking back to the Farm and taking the car we thought we could just walk there.
It was some walk and the wind was crazy.
Lud's Church was impressive! Unfortunately there is little light.
And just when de descended Carol, Holly and Andrea approached from the other side. We had a chat and then walked different directions.
The path we chose for the way back suddenly stopped and we added some cross-country bit to get down to the path along the river, just n order to climb every meter up again to the ridge.
My fitbit was at 200 floors for the day, when we finally reached it!!!
Since I had not enough we walked the Roaches backwards home.
The wind was so strong that we could not talk and that it was difficult to walk straight. The weather bas sunny and nice apart from that.
Back in the house we just had time for a coffee and getting ready for dinner.
We were 7 for dinner and had a lovely meal.
Back home we sat with Brian and Fiona who told us about their just past holiday in Greece and shared (too much) Schnaps with us.
Again we were in bed way before midnight. Country life is different :)
Blipping the wee terrier Trixie.
Extras Lud's Church - can you see the Green Knight?
The walls are high - I have no person in the shot for scale unfortunately.
