Kings Cross

Day two of a successful mini trip to London. Despite pouring rain we managed to find our way to Ealing Common to meet up with someone I was at school with 35 years ago, and whom I haven't met in the intervening timespan. Had a lovely brunch and then extended sit around the dining room table with her, her husband and their daughters who are in their twenties.

We are now waiting for our chariot back to Edinburgh in the Kings Cross first class waiting room. Definitely worth the £5 supplement you have to pay when you have an advanced purchase ticket.

Meanwhile, here's a view I've been meaning to blip for a while - since it opened. I see they now have the unreconstructed old departures area  under renovation. I will be interested to see whether they manage to do anything useful with it (in my view it was really only suitable for demolition).
