John Harrison's H4 - the first seawatch

We've spent a lovely day wandering around London in the company with my son. We met up down at Greenwich, and visited the newly reopened Cutty Sark, before lunching at the Gipsy Moth. Up the hill to the Royal Observatory, and time to learn about the longitude problem and John Harrison's exquisite seawatch. Really instructive and a beautiful object.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, we headed on the DLR over to the Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford to look at laptops and tablet computers. What a weird place! Finally back to the hotel on the Central Line, where we are currently having a moment of ease before we head out to find a couple of beers.

And we were lucky with the weather. Crisp, bright and clear. But, ooh, aren't there a lot of people in London?
