Click beetle?

I didn't hear him click but apparently they do using the little flap you can see between the thorax and abdomen.  At less than 2cm high, it's quite an impressive record of being able to jump to 30cm!

I didn't hear him click (as he sat there quite happily) but I think I've ID'd him correctly.

Little Dog couldn't quite work out why I was pointing the camera the wrong way and insisted on creating the backdrop for the photo.

We had a lovely circuit from the Cow and Calf in a moody mist - up to the poetry seat, a bit beyond and then left nearly to the Pancake Stone. The sun has since come out and a bit of gardening/hacking has been achieved.
