Alpine Pasque Flowers.....

..... are out in full bloom on the ridge above Javerne. This gave colour to an otherwise grey afternoon. The wind was so strong up there, I had to go down the lee slope and follow a cow path to stay on my feet. This is very rare in the mountains in our area, the foehn usually blows along the valleys. I saw a very small herd of chamois, looking very thin, on the opposite side of the valley. They are clearly still suffering from their winter hardships poor things.
