Folkestone Harbour
It dawned on me the other day that I’ve spent the past few months promoting the best locations in Kent to location managers with my film office hat on yet I’ve rarely visited these places myself.
So today I took Mum and Dad on a tour of Folkestone. We walked from Leas Cliff overlooking the beach, past the funicular railway, along Remembrance Walk where knitted poppies were attached to railings, down the Hill to the Harbour, quick pit stop for a cold beer on the Rocksalt terrace bar, then back up through the town past lots of quirky vintage shops.
It was a scorching hot day and we felt like tourists. Must visit again soon with friends. When did you last play tourist in your own county? I highly recommend it.
