Dance away

The annual Berkol Doğan Dance Festival today, and as every year, I worked back stage for the afternoon performance, slipping into the auditorium to take a couple of photographs.  The festival is organised by the family of a '98 graduate who lost his life ten years ago in tragic circumstances, as a memorial for a young man who loved to dance. A day of dance that ends with an afternoon performance as part of the larger FAF (Fine Arts Festival) which has been taking place today on campus, enthusiasm hardly hampered by the gloomy weather. As I write this, I can hear our students enjoying the evening performance by the Turkish rock band maNga who will bring this busy weekend to a close, for which I am grateful.  I would go and take a peek, but I'm too tired.
