Palm Cove

These palms have become an iconic view around these parts. They're on the beach at Palm Cove, a small town with many seafront restaurants and some twee shops 15 miles north of Cairns. Regardless of a few pretensions, walking down the squeaky sandy beach from the pier to the palms is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
