Sparkle

Another lovely Saturday, with just a couple of heart-in-mouth moments.

Swimming lesson for the little Gs this morning. Little G is always a bit fearful in the water. The same cannot be said of his little sister, who decided to jump in when I was briefly looking the other way. Thankfully Mr G was alert to it and I got her in time. She was completely unphased, but I was a little on edge for the rest of the lesson.

This afternoon some friends of mine came round for some dinner and very kindly brought sparklers with them. I was a bit nervous about these - wasn't sure how the children would react - but Mr G was sure they would be fine. He was right, as usual! They loved them, and were largely very sensible with them, although that didn't stop their fearful mummy yelping at Little G a few times to hold it further away from his coat and not wave it too close to his sister. I think I must just have watched too many horror stories on Blue Peter as a kid to be completely relaxed around sparklers!
