Sailing Lessons

Took a walk through the old gravel pits this morning. Until a few years ago this was a gravel quarry operated by Hanson PLC, but is now worked out and has been restored as a nature reserve.

The first pits to be quarried have long been flooded and used by the Otley Sailing Club. This morning they were holding lessons for new members. Probably just as well it was very calm so no one got a ducking.

The water was so calm the boats made a lovely reflection.
