Water crowfoot: looking pretty in the pond

We think a first year flowering of this oxygenator appearing a few days ago and worth a blip on a grey day, although now it’s posted the white petal isn’t showing well.

Extra: 4 tomato plants, instead of a grow bag we are trying a home made version of using a ringed pot, the outer slowly seeping water through to the roots. Many years ago John would successfully grow small tasty tomatoes, gardeners delight come to mind. Since moving to Mull he’s lost interest, other projects now occupy his mind although as often happens we were given a couple plants and two more appeared and they are now on the way, to what I don’t know we will see.

From the internet:
Ranunculus aquatilis (water crowfoot)
a very variable plant, which has long branched stems rooted at the bottom. Can form large stands where it is happy, but does prefer clean moving water. Has the benefit of small white flowers with yellow centres in summer.
