A long walk for little legs

The boys slept well, but we were up and out to the woods by 9.30. James chose a different route, and spent little time on the big rocks as the thought he’d left his feathers by the gate yesterday. Luckily we’d collected plenty on the way as they weren’t there. They ran about in the heather which was up to their thighs, then we continued along the carriage drive, going down by a steep track to roll down some hummocks at the bottom. It’s the new favourite thing. The big street home was not so interesting. It was a walk of 4 miles.
