Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Grammie Fun -- 90 Today!

Grammie Fun is 90 today! She wanted mexican food -- a chicken enchilada -- for her celebration dinner.

Here she is seriously reading one of her many birthday cards; lots of people sent cards. She said she was still overwhelmed by the surprise of the family gathering for a party last Saturday.

Her biggest thrill, though, was passing her driver's test. She did not have to take a driving test, and she did miss the most amount of answers possible without flunking the written test, but she is still legally licensed to drive a car. If you see a little burgundy 4-door Honda with a wheelchair symbol on the license plates, you are advised to pull over, park, and let her pass!

During dinner she told me with great concern that they've made a mistake on her new driver's license. It states that she is 4'1" instead of 4'11" and she is quite worried that she'll be in trouble if they ever catch her, but she doesn't want to tell them just in case they decide she really shouldn't have a license. I didn't laugh at that moment. I tried to be real serious and console her. But when we got home, Mr. Fun had to pick me up off the floor!

So if you see a little burgundy 4-door Honda with a wheelchair on the plates, and no driver (because she is so short), just pull over, park, and say a prayer.

We are wondering when the folks at the Department of Motor Vehicles will have the good sense to not issue a new driver's license. She can barely get in or out of a car, but she is allowed to drive one. Crazy!

Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
