Bear reflections
What a great day again.Woke to heavy rain but by the time we had been for a swim and had a delicious breakfast it had stopped and the sun was coming out.
First stop was Loch an Eilein. A wonderful walk along the Loch watching a woodpecker in a nearby tree and delighted to see a lot of red squirrels. We shared a hot chocolate before a drive through spectacular countryside to the Highland Wildlife Park.Straight up to see if we could see Hamish but he was fast asleep behind his Mum.This is his usual routine we were told.He goes for a swim a couple of times in the morning and then has a nap at lunchtime, anything from 20 minutes to a couple of hours. He had just gone to sleep when we arrived. We decided to sit on a bench in the sunshine and see what happened. After about 20 minutes there was movement, up Mum got to reveal Hamish.A walk down the hill, a feed and then in to the water. We watched them play for the next few hours. A delight to watch.Such a loving Mum who kept hiding under the water and then popping up as if to say ‘boo’ to him.He stayed on a little island for a while and then with a big splash he was in the water again happily swimming around.
They eventually left to go to their den and we headed off to see the tigers and snow monkeys.Lots of very cute babies and sooo tiny.
On to wolf wood with a good view of them and finally the Wild cats just in before the park closed. Wonderful to watch the kittens playing with their Mum , three beautiful, stripey kittens with blue eyes :)
Lots of extras and Please take a look at yesterday’s blip if you have not seen input already, trying to catch up :)
