swimming hole at East Fork Creek

Saturday we went into the mountains for a bit trying to get out of the heat - We didn't think we could swim at the swimming hole, but I was doing some investigating for summer.  (It is rather small and lots of broken bottles.)  But a lovely waterfall.

Then we went to Cave Mountain Lake National Forest Rec Area.  We went LOTS when the kids were small as it was a lovely little lake not too far away - but then had drained it in recent years to work on the dam.  We weren't sure it would come back.  But there it was.  A nice nostalgic visit - and I'm sure we will be back this summer.  (LOTS of salamanders.)
