I remember over 50 years ago my father pointing out the Peewit to me and told me to read about it in the bird book. Of course I couldn't find it until he suggested looking under Lapwing.

This chap was very trusting and let me get quite close - either that or it was the old trick of "if you are looking at me you are not looking at my nest"
