This could be the most dandelion-packed field I have ever seen.  Driving down the Penrith to Wigton road today there was mile after mile of dandelion-covered verges.

I think dandelions get a bad rap. They are a truly useful flower when they bloom in such abundance.  They yield both pollen and nectar, so honeybees have plenty of forage to build up the strength of their colonies so they can make tons of honey from the summer flowers in July.  Look out for early swarms.
