High cirrus at Stenness

The day started grey and a bit dreich.
The weather was distinctly uninspiring as  my beautiful wife headed across to Coldomo to give the hosses and EJ a quick check up. It rained as we drove home.
Events planned for later in the day meant the woofers needed to be taken out before lunch, and we had a short wander at Wasdale. Thankfully the rain stopped, and we all returned to the car dry.
After lunch, we got ourselves ready to head across to Orphir to attend the funeral of "Uncle" Sandy. He was a very fine gentleman, a cousin of Mum's and someone of whom I have fond memories from my youth and holidays in Orkney. His wicked sense of humour will be greatly missed. Dad did the funeral and, as usual did a good job of the send off for someone whom he thought of as a good friend.
After the internment there was a chance to meet up with members of the family I haven't seen for far too long, and for HV to meet a load of people she knows only from stories. We stood in the sunshine and blethered a while.
Later, we left suits and ties at home, collected the woofers and had a wander around Brodgar and the Loch of Stenness. The clouds were lovely and there was warmth in the air.
