Celebrations

Not only is this time of year filled with cherry blossom and burgeoning spring greenery, it is marked by both my sons’ birthdays tomorrow. When they lived at home, it was an exciting day of present giving and cake eating, but for all the years since, I have celebrated the day without them in person.

However since David is now back in Edinburgh we can mark his birthday by eating cake again with him and Luca, although we have to celebrate today because tomorrow they are off on a flying visit to Budapest.

To offset the hugely unhealthy cake * this dish of crudités is my token to healthy eating...........well, save for the dips which are maybe not quite so healthy!
