Leucojum
Another step closer to home and our last day away. We travelled down to a lovely little award winning site just south of Garlieston. Award winning is often bandied around with little or no evidence. This site had an AA plaque awarding it "best small site" 2016/17.
After setting up we (on the site owners recommendation) headed for Galloway House Gardens. Originally influenced by "Capability" Brown, however we concentrated on a walk through the woodland to the shore. Passing huge Rhododendrons in full flower and strangely a large swath of these Leucojums.
We rounded of the day with a visit to The Isle of Whithorn. Not actually an island it is just a little harbour almost at the end of the peninsula. While I have been before it must be at least 50+ years ago and I have always been approaching from the sea. So to see it from a different aspect was interesting, however it hasn't changed much over the years.
