Goodwins Court

My husband & I got the train down to London today for a 2 night break there. We decided it would be fun to go on a "Jack the Ripper Walking Tour" so we made our way to Embankment Tube Station where the group were to meet. When we got there we saw a guy holding leaflets for the relevant company so we went up to him and asked "Hello - are you Jack the Ripper". To which he replied "no"! "Very Funny" we responded - we know you're not really Jack the Ripper but we're here for the walking tour. He then told us we were at the wrong tube station and we should have gone to "Tower Hill Tube" as he was in fact doing the "Apparitions, Alleyways & Ale" walk! So we joined that instead!

We were rather disappointed not to encounter any ghosts on our tour. Nor did we have any mysterious orbs floating around on the pictures we took on the night. But we did go round some interesting parts of London, including Goodwins Court, which is in this picture. This quaint alley was built in the 1600s and is still to this day lit by 3 working gas lamps. Walking down there really is like taking a step back in time.
