Well? ..... Where Is It?
Another nice day so I did a bit more weeding.
In the afternoon SWMBO and I went for a drive and ended up in Fife.
Why do Fifiers insist on driving well below the speed limit? ............ even in the 20mph zones (which seem to be cropping up everywhere)
We stopped off to see the bluebells in the woods I photographed them in last year with Laurie Campbell.
They weren't there .... not even close to budding!
The opening ferns gave a more successful picture.
We ended up watching the fishing boats coming back into port in Pittenweem whilst eating ice-cream.
I had a wander out to the end of the harbour wall - carefully avoiding the harbour furniture .......... I didn't want to have to use one of the ladders to get out of the water.
The trip home was even worse ..... 10mph, stop - start for miles ........ and miles!
No idea what caused it.
Or the 15 mph for the couple of miles to the bridge - or the 50mph over it.
I am sure people virtually stop to have a look at the approaches and have had the 50mph speed limit on the old bridge drummed into them for so many years they just stick to it. Whatever the reason, it is NOT the answer to the traffic problems - there are much worse hold-ups to get across these days. No wonder locals are just using the old bridge and taking the chance of getting caught.
