Tulip

On this beautiful sunny day I took a quick shot of one of the tulips in the garden before heading off to London.  It wasn't until I looked closely into these delightful white tulips that I realised just how beautiful the delicate purple detail on the petals is that contrasts so well with the stamens.

We then had a long journey into London fortunately going mainly in the opposite direction to the majority of the traffic that was probably heading to the coast on this hot and sunny Bank Holiday weekend. 

We arrived at our daughters flat in time to meet up with our son and go to an Italian restaurant with her fiancee and his family to celebrate his Dad's birthday.  An enjoyable evening with excellent food and wine.
