Cherry Blossom-3

If only the cumulus clouds had not been intent on making an entrance, we might have had wall to wall sunshine today. We certainly did first thing in the morning as His Lordship and I donned our summer gear to walk to the temple of toast, but when the sunshade was ceremonially erected on the patio and the garden chairs strategically placed, along came the cumuli, intent on parading in quick succession above us so that one minute it was warm and sunny and the next minute it was cooler and shady. I blame that malign east wind that has played such a big part in our weather this year.
Being inactive while reading the papers,*it felt cool enough during the shady minutes to retreat inside and admire the sunshine through the glass.

We will be going out for a tour of the policies this afternoon and then I’ve no doubt we will feel just as hot as the crowds of picnickers now gathered with their barbecues on the grass of the Meadows............ and as usual the ice cream van outside the play park will beckon.
