West Cork 1

The bus trip from Dublin to Cork passed quickly and warmly when outside, with the temperature of 9 degrees, it felt cold enough in the wind to warrant having brought gloves. The woolly hat came in useful though.

My friend of many talents and her partner were a welcome sight on the Patrick Quay in Cork as we drew in on time-either the Irish buses are very good time keepers or we have simply been lucky.

We were taken on a guided tour of the coast between Kinsale and Conakilty, lunching royally at a very atmospheric restaurant at Summer Cove and sitting out in the square at Conakility for a coffee even if the noise of His Lordship's teeth chattering was a turn off.

Our Airbnb in Leap is described as 'cosy', and that is exactly what it is. There will be much climbing over each other in the night should a visit to the bathroom be required. There is the possibility of a bigger room tomorrow.

We are invited to eat at the big house tonight.

My blip is of the village of Kilbrittain, where we stopped to look at the skeleton of a whale which was washed up on the shore close by.
