Turtle and Chick

A looooong drive back through stunning scenery today. So grateful to live in such a beautiful country. We found a dead turtle in a river. We drove through the mountain pass into our city in the biggest storm we've possibly ever been in and weren't sure whether to keep driving or not. There was constant lightning and the city was flooded with impassable roads. We had hardly any rain for 11 months and its all come tonight!

We'd been back for just 10 minutes when there was a bang on the gate and some boys gave us a tiny chick to look after. More animals! L is very happy though and has laid claim to it.
