A lovely day for a survey!
We have to do a second curlew/lapwing survey this weekend and today we did half of our area which is close to Oswestry. The weather was hot which made a change from last time when it was cold and muddy. The photo is looking at Wales towards the Berwyns.
As expected, there were none of our target species as the habitat is wrong. It was still a lovely walk with beautiful views and the bonus of seeing a male redstart, the first sighting of the year.
There were lots of wild flowers and blossom including False Oxlip (extra photo), a hybrid of cowslip and primrose.
