World Tour of Scotland - Crinan
Another ferry crossing today, the last of our holiday! We arrived first in line for the ferry to Oban. Another wet crossing so I didn't take many shots but at least this ferry was big enough to have a lounge and coffee dispenser.
Sad to be leaving the islands and heading south, it felt like our holiday was over and we were going home. It isn't, and we're not just yet. Still a lot more to see! A golden eagle was a treat for us today on the way down from Oban.
We arrived at our site in Lochgilphead just in time for lunch. The fascination we have for canals took us straight to the Crinan canal just a short distance away. We loved seeing the comparisons to an inland system of locks.
We went to the end of the canal and watched a yacht coming in to the harbour, just like all those gonggoozlers whatch us on the narrowboat!
I keep missing a local blipper from home, SueMiddleton! She has been sailing to Tobermory, Salen and Oban during these same few days as we have! But she has her own means of transport!
