Queen of the night
The tulips I took indoors a few days ago are fading now and dropping their petals. Here's one which is still intact. The photo is over-exposed to bring out the detail of the flower, but I'm a bit uncertain how to photograph such stark contrast of dark and light. This sort of worked. Although it looks like variegated flower colour, the lighter patches are hail damage I think. The pollen is almost black. If the bees visit these flowers the inside of their hive probably looks as if it needs a good spring clean.
