Hogwarts aka Alnwick Castle

A long day, but a very enjoyable one. After many years travelling up and down the A1 from Bedfordshire to Edinburgh for family visits we felt it was time to see some of the places we generally only pass by. So we've made our base in Newcastle for a few days and have a list of touristy places. Alnwick Castle is one of them. However I have to confess I found it too commercialised for my liking (and expensive to get in) so after taking a few pictures we moved on to the next on the list. Alnmouth and then Amble. They are both delightful places. Alnmouth is called the Tobermory of Northumberland and see extras for that one. Amble is a lovely friendly fishing port. Tomorrow is a change of plan, on the recommendation of a blipper pal, we are going to give a nearby National Trust property a try.
