Bluebells

I walked to a local wood where I have found bluebells in previous years and there were some out today. Sadly not in the numbers as previously… so no carpet of blue. The plants are already being swamped by Himalayan Balsam so the display was not at its best. The blip is of one of the plants with flowers poking through.

I also found a rather bright red larch cone (see extra shot). It really stood out against the green background. It was moving around a lot in the wind and this is about the sharpest shot I got!

More hacking in the garden this afternoon - I hesitate to call it gardening as that implies some sort of finesse, which I lack.
