Today's the day ............................ for a grand day out

We've had a great day today - out and about with Tessa - and lots of pictures taken.

We started with a steam train ride from Haverthwaite to Lakeside, at the southern tip of Windermere.  There was an added bonus at Haverthwaite because there was a display of owls on the platform from The Owl Sanctuary.  The extra is an Asian Brown Wood Owl that kept a watchful pair of eyes on us. 

Then at Lakeside, we boarded the MV Teal  and sailed up Windermere to Bowness.  It was a glorious day for a sail, if a bit chilly in the wind.  We found a sheltered spot to have our picnic lunch - and then an ice-cream, while we watched all the comings and goings on the Lake.  And then we did everything again in reverse order to get us back home again.

Tess is such good company.  She just loved doing everything and chattered away the whole day long.  She'll sleep well tonight - as will we ...........................!
