Autumn, King Street
Well, it turns out that Sandy the Superstorm changed directions - enticed by a Nor'easter out of Ontario - and is slipping by to our north. We are merely bystanders to the main stage, barely scratched by Sandy's outstretched claws, experiencing wild gusty winds and scattered but drenching rainshowers.
Meanwhile, yesterday's cruise ship stayed overnight, sheltering in our harbour. When I arrived early this morning, worried crew and passengers were already hunched over their iPads, gleaning news of friends and family via the free wireless in our cruise terminal. The ship headed south late this afternoon, at high tide, into an ocean still churning with foam-topped waves.
So, the skies were grey, but life continues anyway.
