inspired!
Such a nice day.
Weather-wise, the sun was warm, when it appeared, but first thing in the morning it felt really wintry, and for a brief time at midday it hailed!
Up early for a trip over to Flotta.
Hungry and needing a coffee, I realised as I headed back into town that it was the right day and the right time and I was in the right place to sample a church cafe that I've heard of but never visited. Such friendly and welcoming folk. A table spread with homebakes, tea and coffee, and the chance to buy the local paper. Even better, in came fellow blipper Iain and CMC!
Gathering blip possibilites a plenty I moved on to do a bit more work, some shopping and visit an exhibition by young artists in the Old Library, in Kirkwall.
But then, a sight that immediately became the blip for the day - a crocheted Ukulele cover! I wasn't even held back by my timid photographer self. Before I knew it, I was asking all about the cover. The crocheter said she was quite happy for me to take a photo and showed me some of the details of her work, including a perfectly sewn in waterproof lining. Joy!
To end the day, a jolly Birthday gathering of the dancing crowd. Extra special snacks, which took a little extra time to eat, (including birthday cake, of course), so the skips really were a little less than lively in the second part of the evening. However talk of indigestion tablets was brushed aside and The Rye Twist was danced with (almost) ease.
