Least Bittern at Anahuac NWR

The BOBB 2018 gathering is officially underway in Galveston, Texas.  Before meeting up with everyone today, I spent a couple of hours at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge enjoying the sun, the critters, and the solitude.  This Least Bittern kept me entertained for well over an hour as he went back and forth looking for some lunch.  I was thrilled when he finally plucked this silver fish out of the water and then proceeded to eat it whole. I met up with the BOBB group this evening and had an awesome time chatting with friends from former meet ups as well as new people.  Am looking forward to spending the day with everyone on Thursday!
