Birthday Boy

Today we awoke to our first of two mornings in York, the York South West Premier Inn, more of whom later.
After the excitement of yesterday’s sights I was unsure of how today would match up.
What a beautiful city York is, warm friendly people obviously proud of their city and keen to help.
The bus into York, the visit to the Minster with another great tour, the really interesting Jorvik Viking Centre, an afternoon birthday tea in Betty’s Tea Room, The Shambles, it was just a great day.
AND
I got my ‘Peaky Blinders’ cap for my birthday.
We returned to the hotel to find a bottle of wine, two glasses, a box of chocolates with a birthday card on the dresser of our room from the staff.
Very thoughtful.
