Are You Looking at Me?

Hannah's jack-o-lantern....love the lashes!

It's 8:50pm & we actually still have power. The winds & rain have gained strength over the last hour. Around 6:00 Sandy hit the Jersey coast (very close to where our camper is & thus where we vacation in the summer). Mandatory evacuations along the barrier islands were widespread. Those towns are under water. We've had the news reports on in the background most of the day, & the videos are tough to watch. Only essential personnel are permitted on the roads even here as conditions have deteriorated & many main roads were closed as precautionary tactics. Nowhere to go, no way to get there mentality. We are planning to sleep in the basement for fear the many trees around us may snap & hit the bedrooms. My stiff neck will be getting stiffer, but we'll be safer.

The impact to put things in perspective: 60-80 mph wind gusts & 8-10 inches of rain!
