Breakfast Vegan Style
Back blip and just one for our own records and to help us next time we get vegan guests.
This was the breakfast for our current guests Fabien and Laura, who are both vegan and Fabien avoids gluten too but sometimes has a bit of cheese (as seen here). Laura is stricter and, for example, doesn't eat honey and there's honey in our home-made granola! She said there's a bit of a debate at the moment about to eat or not eat it. We couldn't offer our usual selection of hams, cheeses, boiled eggs, yoghurts, mixed grain bread, and on the last day or on a weekend day sometimes a treat of a bacon sandwich! Additions: 'yoghurt' made from almond/coconut milk; an egg-less Spanish potato and onion tortilla (omelette) made from crushed soya beans; rucola and tomato spread suitable for vegans; crushed avocado, 'rice' biscuits but made with wheat and no gluten; peanut butter suitable for vegans; and then the usual fruits, cereals etc. On other days I made home-made hummus. They were delighted and claimed the egg-less tortilla, spread and yoghurts all delicious. The avocado, as usual, was always finished. They hadn't expected all of this and had even brought their own bread and other bits and bobs. Really sweet, lovely people....I can say this as I'm back blipping and they've now had their 3 night stay. I'll give my verdict on the yoghurts and spread now as there's a little left. I'll give the egg-less tortilla a miss!
Mila, my oldest and best Spanish friend popped by this afternoon as she was in the area and wanted to see the changes we'd made to our roof terrace since she was last here a couple of weeks ago, when we'd talked about a few improvements. She was delighted to see some of her ideas had been implemented!
A little success in the evening when I decided to have a go at making my Mac talk our Panasonic speakers. I'd tried a good few years ago and eventually gave up, frustrated and grumpy. Well, tonight - success!! I honestly don't know what I did differently, but we can now listen to music from decent speakers - woohoo! It's not Bluetooth, but WPS, which I think is secured wifi. I was inspired after using the Bluetooth speakers at our Budapest Airbnb. When I told Bb about it, I said I was perhaps older and wiser now. He answered, 'Or more patient!' Cheeky thing!
Actually, as I type this I'm wondering if we weren't WPS friendly when I tried first time round?
