Spring beech

Today's glorious sunshine lit up the new leaves on this beech tree. It is part of a clump of beeches in the middle of the village planted in 1973 during the "Plant a Tree in 73" project. The leaves have suddenly appeared in the warm weather after being held back by the cold dark spring.
