Ladybird or ladybug?

Many years ago I got involved in a management buy-out/buy-in. One of our trade names at the time was 'Beetle', and the American backers behind the deal decided to use the name Project Ladybug for all the due diligence stuff.  We sometimes wore ties with Beetle motifs on them, silver or gold on a red background, quite tasteful. When the deal went through we all bought ladybird ties from Tie Rack, with bright red motifs on yellow. Pretty gaudy really.

The new American management were horrible to work for, most of the existing management were 'made redundant' within a couple of years (me included) and the company went bust. I've still got my Beetle ties, but I got rid of the ladybird one.

Back to the present, our camera club challenge this month is Bees, Bugs and Butterflies, and today is the first day for ages that I've been able to look for some.
