Birthday!

Hey ho, another year older. It's not all bad being 21 again tho!

Thankyou Steve for a brilliant day yesterday, and thankyou for making today great as well :)

Singing at church this morning, grateful that the cold and cough hadn't sent me tone deaf (which it normally does by this point) - it was only afterwards when folk spoke to me that they realised I was full of a cold!

Wore my birthday skirt today which made me smile. Except when I put it on this morning I decided it was far too long so hoiked it up and put a skinny belt around my waist and it became a cute little dress! Hayley gave me an infinity scarf as a present and I wore that too - was so glad of it as well, it was COLD in church this morning. Finished it off with some slingback heels that have been on their way to a charity shop for years, but that might have found their way back into my wardrobe. Possibly. We'll see how my toes feel in the morning.

Ben was good last night, went to bed no problem, slept all night, woke up when the other kids did! Amazes me that he can do that, I guess the proximity of mama at home is just too convenient for him ;)

Hayley persuaded me to go back to theirs after church for lunch, and then, much later on, after we'd finally finished eating, before it got dark, we headed out for a woodland walk. Glad I had my wellies in the car from yesterday!

Lovely lovely impromptu afternoon - I love how plan-less afternoons are so free to become full of love and laughter and good food and great company!

We came home and have had toast and ham and cake and hot chocolate for tea; Ben is asleep on the sofa, Charley is asleep on my knee; we've actually rented and watched a movie for the first time in years ("This means war" - I liked it! Definitely a Jeni movie though hehe) and now it's time to attempt to get our little family up to bed.

Happy birthday to me :) It has been rather lovely, this weekend :)
