Goodbye!

Katie and B have some traditions when B goes away. One of them is that Katie sends her a goodbye video. She did this just before she left for band. Another is that she sends B off with a story to read when it’s got boring on the plane- B says she really looks forward to opening them. This time katie absolutely covered it in parcel tape so it may be less of a delight to open!

First band of the term today. She came out very pleased because they are doing This is Me from the Greatest Showman. We had a few jobs to do on the way home. One of the jobs was ordering her beautiful, grown up, wooden music stand that she’s chosen to spend her bursary money on. it’s going to have some pretties added but just a little. One day, when I have a bit more money, it will have a hand carved monkey added to it. So it’s an investment, work in progress piece!

We had some lazy time at home. I had suggested she play for an hour or so but I ended up snoozing and she got engrossed in a book. It was about 4 by the time we both realised! She did an amazing 75 minutes or so of clarinet after an initial strop. She learnt some new stuff, did some amazing work on a new study she learnt yesterday and spent a lot of time working on her pieces. It was a really worthwhile time once she’d got her head in the game!

Tea was fairly late so it was not long before she was snuggled in bed & asleep pretty soon after.
