The shed saga continues
Fund raising by the Allotment Committee has realised enough funds to purchase 4 sheds to replace the 8 destroyed year fire last September. And we have been allocate one of them.
My ongoing battle with the Parish Council to replace the sheds took a more a more positive turn recently as the new chairman of the council wants to meet with Susan and I to see if we can work out a way forward. I think that with the Allotment Committee having raised our own funds may help him persuade the Council to help out with the rest. But that’s just one of many issues that need resolving so, although there may be light at the end of the tunnel, that light is no more than a pinprick.
In today’s blip Tony is standing proudly in front of his new shed. The fact that he’s claimed a shed that is standing on the plot where our old shed was is obviously beyond him! Our shed, yet to be erected, is in a different position. Oh! the intricacies of life on an allotment!
On a other matter, the sun put in a brief appearance late this afternoon, probably to remind us that it is still there. It was clearly embarrassed by its absence over the last few days and lacked the courage to hang around. Perhaps it’ll make a full return tomorrow?
