signs of spring (ii)

The big field around our house is empty of livestock, but the grass is greening up and some pink-footed geese have been visiting. There is also frogspawn scattered around near the marshy bit in the middle. I'm expecting sheep and their newborn lambs to arrive here any day now, but in the meantime, Jess is free to run around in it on our walks. 

The field opposite is also empty, but you can see that farmers have been in and out of it on the tractor, spraying muck to improve the quality of the soil.

April always feels to me like a long intake of breath... I think it's my favourite month, traveling hopefully towards Spring and the madness of May.
