signs of spring
It's still cold and breezy here and despite the daffodils being in bloom I still don't feel much like gardening. Still, Jess and I had a nice walk down by the Cairn Water and it was lovely to see some goat willow catkins. The wild garlic is coming up and we have already eaten some :-) Stinging nettles are also just emerging and will be ready for soup in about a week, I should think. No leaves out on the trees yet, though Sarah says they are in London and I saw a horse chestnut just beginning to open its buds yesterday in Dumfries. Weather forecast says warmer weather is on its way at the weekend but I'm not getting out my shorts and sunhat just yet...
