Diary of an Edinburgher

An extra hour

Had a lovely extra hour's kip this morning, which was just as well, as the teenagers in a nearby flat were having a shindig. It was a very weird party, with yelling and shouting and banging to accompany the thumping music, then it would all go quiet for quite a while, like half an hour, and I would think someone had been and complained and it was over. Then it would start up again for another while, then all quiet again. I must have managed to get to sleep in a quiet bit. I hope they all have horrible hangovers this morning.

A dreich day, but we took a walk out to try out JR's new boots (purchased on yesterday's after lunch 'walk'), and ended up at our favourite pub that does very good meals for £5! We've certainly had amazing value meals this weekend. Got a pastry in the French patisserie, where it was all 'Bonjour!' and 'Au revoir!' and I must say the snails (ie those round pastry gooey custardy things) were just right with a coffee at home.

Just watched that programme on Donald Trump. Amazing. What a man! And I don't mean that in a nice way...

These wee daisies are past their best, but they are rather nice when covered in water droplets. It was either them or some daft people in period costume playing about with wooden swords in the Links. The daisies won.
