Never mind the Everton v Liverpool derby, or even the Manchester one between City and United, the Falkirk Stadium was the place to be on Saturday as the Bairns took on their rivals Dunfermline in the SPFL Championship.
It was very close to a full-house and, given the nature of events when these last two teams met, there was a heavy police presence, including officers from the mounted branch!
Unfortunately, it was far from being close on the pitch, with Dunfermline (in the stripes) proving to be the better team on the day. Falkirk, in the navy blue, rallied near the end and could have salvaged an unlikely draw. As it happened, Aaron Muirhead's penalty kick goal was to no avail as the Bairns lost to the Pars 1-2.
Only one home game left of a very disappointing season, and that's to the championship leaders St Mirren. Oh well, there's always next season.
